Baggage

Weight and Size Limitations

 

The total baggage allowance per adult or child passenger is 15Kgs (33lbs). This includes hand baggage.

Baggage in excess of this weight will be carried subject to weight being available and will be charged at a rate of £2.00 per kilo.

If excess baggage cannot be carried on a particular flight, it will be carried on the next available flight. The passenger will be responsible for collection and any storage charges.

The size of any one piece of baggage must not exceed total dimensions of 62 inches, e.g., 30” long + 20” high + 12” wide.

 

Prohibited Items in Baggage

 

 

 

 

 

 

The following items are prohibited:

  • FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS AND SOLIDS such as lighter or heater fluids, paint and matches
  • POISONS such as insecticides, arsenic and cyanide
  • RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS
  • OXIDISING NATERIALS
  • ORGANIC PEROXIDES such as bleaches and fibreglass repair kits
  • FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES
  • INFECTIOUS SUBSTANCES such as bacteria and viruses
  • CORROSIVES such as mercury, acids, alkalis and wet cell batteries
  • COMPRESSED GASES such as butane, oxygen, propane and aqualung cylinders.

 

Lost or Damaged Baggage

 

 

 

 

 

 

Any lost or damaged bag must be reported immediately to a member of the ground handling organisation. No claims for damage will be considered once you have left the airport.

In the event of loss or damage to baggage the airline’s liability is normally limited to £15 per Kg for checked baggage and up to £285 for unchecked baggage, regardless of weight.

Passengers are strongly advised to take out additional baggage insurance if carrying valuable contents.

In the event of lost or delayed baggage, bags will be delivered to the passengers destination address free of charge once the bag is located.

 

Refunds

General

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fares designated as ‘Saver’ are non-refundable except in circumstances where the airline cancels a flight (see Delays & Cancellations below)

‘Flexi’ fares are refundable provided any bookings are cancelled at least one hour prior to take-off. If a booking is not cancelled and a passenger fails to check-in for a flight, the ticket will be invalidated and no refund will be given.

 

Delays & Cancellations

Weather or ATC Delays

 

 

 

 

In the event of weather delays, every effort will be made to operate the flight as soon as conditions are suitable. No refunds or compensation will be paid in the event of weather delays.

If, however, it is necessary to cancel a flight we will rebook you on the next available flight at no additional charge. Alternatively, a full refund will be given.

 

Technical Delays

In the event of technical delays refreshments and meals will be provided appropriate to the length of the delay and the time of day.

If a flight is cancelled for technical reasons we will rebook you on the next available flight at no additional charge. Alternatively, a full refund will be given regardless of the type of ticket held.

 

Fares Rules

 

SKYSOUTH have a range of fares to suit your particular needs.

‘Saver’ fares are non-refundable unless SKYSOUTH cancel a flight. Changes may be made to bookings but there is a charge for doing this.

‘Flexi’ fares are refundable in most circumstances and changes can be made free of charge.

 

Super Saver Fares

  • This fare is valid for one year and is non-refundable.
  • One change is permitted and may be made up to 24hrs prior to scheduled departure time. An administration charge of £10 per person per sector is payable.

 

Saver Fare

  • This fare is valid for one year and is non-refundable.
  • Bookings may be changed up to 24hrs prior to scheduled departure time. An administration charge of £10 per person per sector is payable.

 

Flexi Saver

  • This fare is valid for one year and is refundable provided bookings are cancelled at least one hour prior to departure. An administration fee of £20.00 will be payable on each ticket refunded.
  • Bookings may be changed up to one hour prior to departure at no cost.

 

Full Flexi Fare

  • This fare is valid for one year and is refundable provided bookings are cancelled at least one hour prior to departure.
  • Bookings may be changed up to one hour prior to departure at no cost

 

Taxes

  • A departure tax of £7.50 or €10 is payable on all flights from French airports.
  • No taxes are charged on flights from the UK.

 

Travel Documentation

Passports & Visas

 

 

It is the responsibility of the passenger to ensure that they have the correct travel documentation, including passports, visas and permits to stay.

In the event that a passenger is unable to travel due to incorrect documentation, no refund will be given.

 

e-tickets

SKYSOUTH is a ticketless airline but passengers must be in possession of a confirmation email or the record locater number appropriate to their booking, when checking in.

In all circumstances, the passenger must be in possession of the credit card used when the original booking was made.

 

Check-in

Reporting Times

 

Flights will close for check-in fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Passengers should ensure that they arrive in sufficient time to be checked-in by this deadline.

Refunds will not be payable if passengers arrive too late to be checked-in by the fifteen minute deadline.

Identification

To be accepted for travel, passengers must either have an email confirmation or know their booking reference number.

Each passenger must have a photo ID available at check-in. A passport or new style driving licence are both valid.

 

Carriage of Animals

Domestic Pets

 

 

Pets may be carried from Shoreham to France provided they are housed in a suitable container. Advance notice must be given.

A charge of £2.00 per kilo will be made and will include the weight of both the animal and the container.

Please note that we are unable to carry animals into the UK because Shoreham is not a designated port under the PET Travel scheme.

 

Other animals

 

Livestock, including insects and reptiles, can be carried provided prior arrangements have been made.

A charge of £2 per kilo will be made to include the weight of the animal and container.

 

Unaccompanied minors and young passengers

Aged under 8

 


We cannot accept passengers below the age of 8 unless accompanied by an adult.

 

Aged 8 and under 12

Children aged 8 but under 12 will be accepted for travel as unaccompanied minors. They will be looked after throughout their journey by SKYSOUTH staff or designated airport handling staff.

The parent or guardian at the departure airport must present them at check-in and must wait at the departure gate until after the flight has become airborne.

Full contact details of the parent or guardian at the destination must be provided prior to departure.

On arrival at the destination, the parent or guardian meeting the children must have a valid photo ID and must sign for the minors at the point of handover.

Please note that unaccompanied minors can only be carried to and from the airports we serve. We cannot accept unaccompanied minors for through journeys involving rail services.

 

Aged 12 and under 16

Young passengers aged 12 and under 16 may be accepted as unaccompanied young persons if the parent or guardian requests it.

 

Infants and Young Persons Fares

Infants under two

 

 

A charge of £10.00 is made for infants provided they do not occupy a seat.

 

Others

Children aged 2 and over are charged 50% of the appropriate adult rate.

 

Aged 12 and under 16

Young passengers aged 12 and under 16 may be accepted as unaccompanied young persons if the parent or guardian requests it.

 

RailAir Connections

Rail to Air Connections

 

Flights will normally be held for advertised rail connections. In the event of a delay in excess of an hour, passengers will be re-booked on the next available flight and will be provided with meals and overnight accommodation as appropriate.

SKYSOUTH will not be responsible in the event of delays or cancellations because of industrial action or severe weather conditions on the railways. In these circumstances, refunds will be given.

 

Air to Rail Connections

In the event of flight delays, SKYSOUTH will rebook passengers on the first available rail connection. Meals and overnight accommodation will be provided if appropriate.
